Heightened Expectations – Clarity of View

A big welcome shout out to spring, 2023. Well, at least springtime in the northern hemisphere. It’s been a while and we missed it. Whether you are on the west coast, the northern plains or upper east coast you can be forgiven for wanting the weather systems of the past couple of months to bid a final farewell. It’s been cold, wet and snowy and for many a most uncomfortable time. Of course, unless you ski:2023 was a fantastic year for skiing here in Colorado. I might be taken to task when I admit that for much of winter and the months prior Margo and I have been fortunate enough to have spent time in warmer climates. We heard the coast calling and we responded in like. Continuing to mix business with a break over the holiday season and then again as anniversaries came around, we managed to miss the worst of winter’s wrath. If you have as yet not seen the latest post to our social blog, Buckle-Up, you may find it of interest as it parallels the theme of this post but from a sli...

Further observations following the success of NonStop TBC 22

Events tend to develop their own momentum as their programs unfold. Whether it is just a one day roadshow or a more elaborate gathering, the energy created through the almost constant interaction of the attendees is enough to stimulate side conversations that explore topics that may arise following keynote sessions and major platform and solutions updates. This was definitely the case with NonStop Technical Boot Camp 2022 (NonStopTBC22) where the NonStop community came together for its annual conference. There are other HPE conferences held throughout the year that call on us to commit time and money for an opportunity to hear the latest news on all things related to HPE and to the IT industry, however, for the NonStop community to have the opportunity to participate in a conference solely focused on NonStop continues to elevate NonStopTBC22 to a position of being the premier event of the year. With a program created to touch on almost every aspect of interest to the NonStop community ...

The show goes on; a recap of HPE Discover 2022

To say we fully enjoyed our time at this year’s HPE Discover would be to miss the point. This was the largest in-person gathering in which we have participated in the past two plus years and it proved to be well worth the wait. Many thanks to the Connect Team for making this experience real and a big thank you, too, to the team at NTI for giving Margo and me every opportunity to simply take it all in. This event was the hard launch of the latest Connect Tech Forum, Business Integration and Analysis and that for us was the highlight, but I am getting ahead of myself. What follows here is a number of brief notes I posted in the lead up to the show and then as the days progressed and they do tell the story. Some of it offers up intrigue even as other comments praise the efforts of HPE. One thing is for certain and that is the presence NonStop has within HPE. With the swing to GreenLake as an option, I am expecting to hear more from the NonStop team about GreenLake in the coming months. ...

A funny thing happened on the way to the big event!

With the change in weather across North America more cars are heading out onto the freeways. The US Interstate system remains a marvel even all these years after it first appeared guaranteeing as it were that given the opportunity everyone can drive everywhere.. It matter little, apart from time constraints, the distance to be travelled as there is always a road that will take you there with a minimal fuss. Looking ahead to the big event and by this I mean the upcoming HPE Discover 2022 event in Las Vegas, it will be just another opportunity to hit the freeway. When it comes to big events there is no location where the tag fits any better than Las Vegas and perhaps there is no other showcase for all that is the best of HPE than what you find on display at the Venetian and Palazzo hotels. Did we mention that the Venetian canals there complete with the Rialto Bridge? Situated between both hotels you will find the Venetian Expo (formerly referred to as the Sands Expo), a cavernous v...

Another webinar delivered by Pyalla Technologies, LLC is in the works!

With as many virtual events as there continue to be, it’s not always easy to get a message across to a target audience. I was reminded of this just a few days ago when I was enjoying an exchange with another vendor about an upcoming purchase. To say it was car related purchase would be something that you would expect to hear from me and so it was.  GM announced the arrival of a new car and it did so in a virtual event that it broadcasts to the globe. Calling it an event, free to all interested parties and recorded for posterity, maybe a stretch at a time when much is being conveyed in webinars and podcasts, but then again, the launch of a new Corvette certainly warranted the creation of an event all by itself. It was only a short time ago that this year’s NonStop Technical Boot Camp (NonStop TBC21) came to a close and in the intervening time, we have all had time to review sessions of interest to each of us. I certainly have been no slouch in this regard and have found that taking ...
